The Te Deum (H. 146) is by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. It is his best-known work. It owes its fame to the fact that the first eight bars of the prelude are used as the theme music for Eurovision. At one point, I used the intro to “We Will Rock You” as an opening because I like it as a rhythmic foundation. Later on, I had planned to incorporate “Ode to Joy,” but I ended up scrapping that idea.
